Today, the Michigan Gaming Control Board approved the Lac Vieux Desert tribe and partner PointsBet for an online casino launch.
Following the approval, PointsBet is expected to launch its Michigan online casino platform in partnership with the Lac Vieux Desert tribe this morning. PointsBet will become the 12th operator to go live with online casino gaming in Michigan since the market first launched on January 22, 2021. PointsBet and the Lac Vieux Desert tribe have offered online sports betting in Michigan since that date.
“The Lac Vieux Desert tribe becomes the 12th operator to offer both forms of online gaming after meeting all regulatory requirements,” said Richard S. Kalm, executive director, Michigan Gaming Control Board. “The associated revenue payments will support K-12 education, economic development, and the local tribal governing body.”
Michigan Online Casinos
Alongside the 12 operators who run both online sports betting and online casinos in Michigan, there’s a 13th operator live with only an online casino. Gun Lake Casino offers an online casino with its partner Parx Interactive. The full list of authorized platform providers is available on the MGCB’s website.
Since launch, Michigan’s online casino market has grown to become a US leader. In March, Michigan online casinos absolutely shattered expectations, reaching nearly $90 million in revenue. Year-to-date, Michigan’s online casino operators have drawn in over $190 million in revenue.
