The Michigan Lottery is available to play online, which means you can play a wide range of instant-win and number draw games from home and via a mobile device. One of the most popular is Michigan Keno and Michigan Club Keno, which are a combination of draw and instant win games.
By playing Keno in Michigan, losses support K-12 Education in the state, and the majority of revenue is paid back in prizes. So, if you play responsibly, that’s a win-win gambling situation.

What Is Keno?
Keno plays as a random number drawing game, much like lottery games like Powerball and Mega Millions. The biggest difference between most Keno games and a standard lottery drawing is the total of numbers drawn in each game, as well as the option to choose how many numbers you wish to play.
Keno games often draw around 20 numbers, while most standard lottery games choose 4-7 numbers. If you’ve ever been to a land-based casino and looked at the big board full of light-up numbers, you’ve seen a live keno game in action.
Each Keno game requires the player to choose how many numbers they want to play, how much they wish to wager, and how many different drawings they want to play. The biggest prizes come from playing the maximum amount of numbers and seeing all of those numbers drawn in the Keno game.
The winning numbers are then drawn at random. If the minimum amount of winning numbers matches your numbers, you win a small prize. If all the keno numbers match, you win the top prize.
Michigan Keno Games 2022
The Michigan Lottery offers both in-store and online Keno.
In-store Keno games have scheduled drawings, and you have to go to a store and fill out a ticket to participate. The drawings apply to the tickets of all participating players. However, you can check the numbers from home, you don’t need to sit in the store and wait for the drawing.
Online Keno games are instant win games that follow the same structure as regular Keno, but the drawings occur when you click the, “Go,” button. They can also be played entirely via desktop or mobile app.
In-Store Michigan Lottery Keno
The Michigan Lottery offers two types of in-store games: Keno and Club Keno. And we explain Club Keno in more detail in a section a bit further down.
For regular Keno, you have to choose ten numbers or have them randomly selected using the “Easy Pick” option. Each drawing costs $1.00 and has 22 winning numbers.
If you match zero numbers, you get your money back. If you match 6 or more, you win prizes, with the top prize (for matching all ten numbers) being $250,000.
Online Michigan Lottery Keno
Each type of online Keno game allows you to choose the number of numbers you want to play and the total wager (cost of the ticket). Look at the paytable on the right to see the payout based on your settings.
Online Keno | Top Prize | Price | Overview |
---|---|---|---|
Instant Keno | $200,000 | $0.10 – $20 | Choose ten numbers in the hopes that they match the 20 instant draw numbers. |
Instant Keno Multiplier | $500,000 | $0.25 – $20 | Same as Instant Keno, except random boxes will have stars. Match two star numbers for a 3x multiplier, and three star numbers for a 10X multiplier. |
Fuzzball Keno | $200,000 | $0.10 – $20 | A quirky, fuzzy version of Instant Keno with the same structure and win potential. |
Top Shot Keno | $500,000 | $0.25 – $20 | If the last number is the highest number, prizes are multiplied. |
Bullseye Keno | $500,000 | $0.10 – $4 | Random boxes will have bullseyes, each with their own multiplier. If a matching number is a bullseye number, prizes receive its multiplier. |
Michigan Lottery Club Keno
Club Keno is available exclusively in stores, but you can watch the drawings online through the Michigan Lottery app and website. Drawings take place every day, every three minutes, between the hours of 6:00 AM and 1:59 AM. This means you don’t have to wait long to find the Club Keno winning numbers.
The Michigan version of Club Keno is exclusive to the state. While the Missouri Lottery (and potentially other states) offer games of the same name, the Michigan Club Keno is only available to folks within MI state lines.
How To Play Standard Club Keno Michigan
To play Club Keno in Michigan, you choose how many numbers you want to play from one to ten. The more numbers you play, the higher your win potential, but the harder it is to receive a payout at all.
The paytable, which you can view online and in stores, will show you how much you stand to win based on how many numbers you choose correctly.
You also select the size of your wager, which is from $1.00 to $20. If you choose to play just the base game, you can play ten numbers for $1.00 for a top prize of $100,000, or you wager $20 for a top prize of $2 million.
Club Keno Add-Ons
Extra Prizes
For $1.00 more per $1.00 wagered, you can have an entire extra chance on the same draw. However, you can’t win double the amount, and will only receive the higher of the two payouts.
The Kicker
This also costs $1.00 more per $1.00 wagered. The Kicker in Keno is a randomly generated multiplier between 1x and 10x. If you opt-in, your prize is multiplied by The Kicker.
To win the maximum fixed jackpot of $20 million, you need to play ten numbers, wager $20, and opt into the Kicker, which will cost an additional $20 for a total of $40 per draw.
The Jack
One of the biggest recent winners in Michigan’s Club Keno drawing won a six-figure prize by playing The Jack.
The winning numbers were selected by a 56-year-old man from Muskegon County, who won a $158,579 jackpot in May 2021. Per the rules of “The Jack,” the Michigan resident saw all eight of his numbers from “The Jack” come up in the 20 numbers selected in the Club Keno drawing.
“The Jack” offers access to a progressive jackpot, and players can opt-in for “The Jack” for an extra $1 purchase on any Club Keno ticket.
