FanDuel Michigan plans to launch live dealer games on Thursday, July 22, 2021. Once live, FanDuel will be first online casino in the state to offer this type of gaming option.
A live dealer game involves a real-life dealer live-streamed from a physical table. Players can tune in and place bets as well as interact with the dealer and other players. It’s currently an option at many online casinos in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and around the world.
Now, online casino players in Michigan will be able to legally bet with a live dealer as well.
About Michigan Live Dealer Games
FanDuel partnered with Evolution Gaming to bring live dealer games to Michigan. Evolution also has deals in place with BetMGM, William Hill, and PointsBet to power their live dealer gaming options. So not only will FanDuel Casino Michigan have live dealer games and applicable promotions, other top-rated gaming operators in the state will too.
The reason live dealer games took until now to launch in Michigan is because of rule 639b of the state’s Internet Gaming Rules: “An internet gaming operator or its internet gaming platform provider must obtain written board approval to conduct live games or other similar type games. Unless otherwise approved by the board in writing, the live game environment used to conduct live games or similar games must be located in this state in a location approved by the board.”
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) had to approve the games, and Evolution Gaming had to open live dealer studios within state lines. Those two factors meant live dealer games took longer than digital games to receive approval.
What Live Dealer Games Can You Expect?
When FanDuel Casino Michigan and other platforms launch live dealer games, you can expect the following options:
- Blackjack
- Roulette
- Baccarat
- Casino Hold’em
- Three-Card Poker
- Dreamcatcher (wheel spin game)
For more popular games like blackjack, you’ll have a few different options in terms of game rules and betting limits. For example, Evolution’s High Limit Blackjack has a $100 table minimum and $2,500 max bet due to the favorable rules that boast a 99% payback percentage. But other options will accept bets as low as $1 per hand.
Live dealer games are also often only available during certain times of the day. While some are available 24-7, others may only be available from 2 PM to 4 AM.
