Soaring Eagle Gaming, the gaming arm of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, has launched its Michigan online casino and its Michigan online sports betting app. They operate under the name Eagle Casino & Sports after partnering with platform provider GAN.
With the move, all of Michigan’s federally recognized tribes are now offering online casinos and online sports betting. Additionally, Michigan now has a full complement of 15 internet gaming and sports betting providers. State law limits licenses to the 12 federally recognized tribes and Detroit’s three retail casinos.
It’s been a busy month for Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant. On April 4, it opened its retail sportsbook, Ascend Sportsbook.
The state’s largest retail casino now boasts a sportsbook featuring several large televisions, along with space for viewing live game action while partaking from the food and drink menu.

Eagle Casino & Sports Goes It Alone With Online Platforms
Instead of partnering with a well-known, big-name platform for its online offerings, Soaring Eagle Gaming elected to develop its own product.
Three other casinos previously launched their own online platforms: FireKeepers Casino, Four Winds Casino, and Gun Lake Casino (under the Play Gun Lake banner).
And while Eagle Casino & Sports is now up and running, there’s still going to be an opening for another platform or two to enter the Michigan market.
When TwinSpires announced in February that it will exit the online casino and online sportsbook markets, it raised a question that still stands, who will enter the market?
Island Resort & Casino is partnered with TwinSpires, meaning the Hannahville Indian Community will need to partner with an existing platform or develop its own product.

TwinSpires has yet to say when it will end its online offerings but has said it is doing so to focus its efforts on its online horse racing business.

March Was A Big Month For Michigan’s Online Offerings
March was a record-setting month for online wagering in Michigan. Commercial and tribal operators reported a combined $162.15 million in total gross receipts and gross sports betting receipts, an 11.6% increase from February.
Internet gaming gross receipts reached a state record of $131.67 million. The previous record was set in February 2024 when total gross receipts reached $122.8 million.
Gross sports betting receipts totaled $30.48 million in March.
With Eagle Casino & Sports entering the markets in April, there’s a good chance additional record-setting months are in Michigan’s future.
