DraftKings and the Detroit Pistons announced a new agreement Monday, with the launch of DraftKings Sportsbook imminent in Michigan.
The deal makes DraftKings the exclusive Official Daily Fantasy Sports Partner, and an Official Sports Betting and iGaming Partner, of the Detroit basketball franchise. The agreement puts DraftKings branding throughout Little Caesars Arena, home of the Pistons.

DraftKings operates as an official partner of two other NBA franchises, including the Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers. The announced deal with the Pistons marks the first partnership between DraftKings and a Michigan-based professional sports franchise.
“As our first professional team activation in the state of Michigan, we are thrilled to join forces with the Detroit Pistons ahead of our pending market introduction,” said Ezra Kucharz, Chief Business Officer at DraftKings. “This deal deepens our relationship with a prominent local team to facilitate more immersive fan experiences, both for Michiganders familiar with regulated gaming products as well as newcomers to the space.”
DraftKings operates as an authorized gaming operator of the NBA and adds the Pistons as the third league franchise in which it holds an official partnership. DraftKings has similar deals in place with several other US sports franchises, including the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Cubs, and Colorado Rockies.
